Terms of service
Last updated 8 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Anthony Hudson, trading as QuoteSnap ("QuoteSnap", "we") for using the QuoteSnap app and website. Please read them. By creating an account you accept them.
1. What QuoteSnap is, and isn't
QuoteSnap prices building work with AI, shows homeowners' jobs to tradespeople, lets tradespeople quote, invoice and get paid, and lets contractors put work out to tender.
We aren't a party to the work. Any contract for building work is between the homeowner and the tradesperson, or between the contractor and the subcontractor. We don't do, check or guarantee the work, and we aren't responsible for it. The documents we prepare say so.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give us accurate details.
- You sign in with a code we text to your phone. Keep your phone secure. You're responsible for what's done with your account.
- One person per account. Tradespeople and contractors must have the right to act for the business they name.
3. Homeowners
The AI price is an estimate, not a quote. We work it out from your photos and description and show it as a range. It tells you what's fair. It isn't an offer to do the work, and a tradesperson may quote above or below it once they've seen the job. We only price the trades we're confident about. For anything else your job goes out as an open job without a price.
Posting a job. When you post, up to five tradespeople can pay to unlock your name, address, phone number, email and access notes, so they can contact you about that job. Nobody sees them before that. You choose who does the work.
Choosing a tradesperson and paying. When you accept a quote, you may be asked for a deposit, paid by card. Card payments go straight to the tradesperson through Stripe; QuoteSnap doesn't hold your money. The balance is invoiced when the work is done, and you can pay by card or, where the tradesperson gives bank details, by bank transfer.
Cancelling. You can cancel a job before you've chosen someone. After that, cancellation, refunds of deposits and anything else about the work are between you and the tradesperson.
Reviews must be honest and about the work. Once a job is done you can leave one.
4. Tradespeople
Before you can unlock or quote, you need to add your trades and have your public liability insurance verified. We check documents but don't guarantee them, and we can revoke a verification if we find a problem.
Credits. You buy credits in bundles to unlock homeowners' contact details. Unlocking a job costs a set number of credits, shown before you unlock. Each job can be unlocked by up to five tradespeople.
When credits are refunded. You get the credits back in full if:
- the homeowner cancels the job within 7 days of your unlock;
- the homeowner accepts another tradesperson's quote within 48 hours of your unlock and you haven't sent a quote;
- the job was already full or awarded when your unlock landed; or
- the contact details turn out to be wrong or unreachable, and you tell us.
Otherwise credits aren't refundable. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and are lost if you delete your account, so use them or contact us first. If we refund a card purchase, the credits it bought are taken back.
Card payments to you. Customers pay deposits and invoices by card through Stripe, straight to your bank. You need a Stripe payout account to send quotes. QuoteSnap keeps 2.5% + 20p of each card payment, which covers the card processing; the rest goes to you. If you mark an invoice as paid by bank transfer and the customer then pays by card, we refund the card payment.
Your customers' details. When you add your own customers to quote them, you are responsible for having the right to use their details, and you are the controller of that information. We process it on your behalf to provide the app. Details you get by unlocking a job may only be used to contact the homeowner about that job.
Your quotes and invoices are yours. Make sure prices, VAT and terms are right; we do the arithmetic from your line items.
5. Contractors and subcontractors
- Putting packages out to tender, and tendering for them, is free. No credits are used.
- When a tender is awarded, the subcontractor pays QuoteSnap a fee of 1% of the contract value, by card, within 30 days of the award. While a fee is overdue, the subcontractor can't submit new tenders.
- The contractor is responsible for checking compliance, applying CIS and retentions, and the contract with the subcontractor. Our compliance panel shows what's on file; it's not advice.
6. How to behave
Don't use QuoteSnap to:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post anything offensive, discriminatory or illegal;
- post fake jobs, fake quotes or fake reviews;
- contact people for anything other than the job they're on QuoteSnap for;
- get around fees, scrape the app, or interfere with how it works.
We filter offensive language. You can report a message, a job or a quote, and block someone you've met through a job. We act on reports within 24 hours. We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we suspend your account and you think we've got it wrong, contact us.
7. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep QuoteSnap running and accurate, but we provide it "as is". AI prices are estimates and can be wrong.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. Otherwise:
- we aren't liable for the building work, or for what homeowners, tradespeople, contractors or subcontractors do;
- we aren't liable for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunities;
- for tradespeople, contractors and subcontractors, our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time.
If you're a homeowner using QuoteSnap as a consumer, you have legal rights these terms don't affect.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, then Delete account) or on our web page. We can't delete it while work is booked or you owe money through QuoteSnap; finish or settle that first. We may close accounts that break these terms.
9. Changes
We'll tell you in the app before changes to these terms take effect. If you keep using QuoteSnap after that, the new terms apply.
10. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there.
